The Soul as the Reflecting Organ
- The Spirit as the Receiving Organ
- Our spirit was dead – Eph. 2:1, 5
- Our spirit was made alive, quickened – Col. 2:13; Rom 8:10
- We now have a new spirit – Ezek. 36:26
- God put His Own Spirit into us and is now dwelling in us – Ezek. 36:26; Rom. 8:11
- Our spirit was joined to the Spirit, who is the Lord Himself – 1 Cor. 6:17
- The purpose and function of our spirit:
- To contact the Lord
- To receive the Lord
- To worship God – John 4:24
- To have fellowship with the divine Persons of the Triune God – 1 John 1:3
- We receive what we love!
- The Soul as the Reflecting Organ
- We must deal with the soul by denying it – Matt. 16:24–26; Luke 9:23–25
- The soul must be purified mainly be receiving the Word – 1 Peter 1:22
- Our soul must be transformed – 2 Cor. 3:18; Rom. 12:2
- The purpose of the soul is to reflect God – 2 Cor. 3:18
