We began meeting as the church in Lake Forest in 2010. For years, some of us have opened our homes for Bible study, fellowship and prayer in Lake Forest. Yet, we still joined with larger communities of believers in nearby cities such as Irvine, Mission Viejo or San Juan Capistrano. However, in 2010, we felt led by the Lord that it was time to step out. We began to follow the pattern of the early New Testament church and began to break bread from house to house.
Acts 2:46-47 set forth a pattern, “And day by day, continuing steadfastly with one accord…breaking bread from house to house, they partook of their food with exultation and simplicity of heart, praising God and having grace with all the people. And the Lord added together day by day those who were being saved.” These verses encouraged us to practice a church life in one accord that is intimate and mutual. We love to meet in one another’s homes, and to spread into more homes. We don’t just meet in a few bigger homes, but endeavor to reach every home. And we don’t just want the participation of some more experienced believers, but of all the believers.
