The Economy of God

I Timothy 1:3-6 “Even as I exhorted you…that you might charge certain ones not to teach different things nor to give heed to myths and unending genealogies, which produce questionings rather than God’s economy, which is in faith. But the end of the charge is love out of a pure heart and out of a good conscience and out of unfeigned faith; from which things some, having misaimed….”

I.    The Distractions from God’s Economy

A   Religious Doctrines—Judaism, right and good

B.   Philosophy—Gnosticism, with its good principles

C.  Good things of Christianity

II.  The Definition of God’s Economy

A.  God’s economy is simply His plan to dispense Himself into humanity—1 Tim 1:4.

B.   God’s business in this universe is to dispense Himself to many people in mass production and free of charge.

C.  We must discover what God is in order to know what He is dispensing; God’s substance is Spirit—John 4:24.
