The Soul as the Reflecting Organ

  1. The Spirit as the Receiving Organ
    1. Our spirit was dead – Eph. 2:1, 5
    2. Our spirit was made alive, quickened – Col. 2:13; Rom 8:10
    3. We now have a new spirit – Ezek. 36:26
    4. God put His Own Spirit into us and is now dwelling in us – Ezek. 36:26; Rom. 8:11
    5. Our spirit was joined to the Spirit, who is the Lord Himself – 1 Cor. 6:17
    6. The purpose and function of our spirit:
      1. To contact the Lord
      2. To receive the Lord
      3. To worship God – John 4:24
      4. To have fellowship with the divine Persons of the Triune God – 1 John 1:3
    7. We receive what we love!
  2. The Soul as the Reflecting Organ
    1. We must deal with the soul by denying it – Matt. 16:24–26; Luke 9:23–25
    2. The soul must be purified mainly be receiving the Word – 1 Peter 1:22
    3. Our soul must be transformed – 2 Cor. 3:18; Rom. 12:2
    4. The purpose of the soul is to reflect God – 2 Cor. 3:18
