Dividing the soul from the human spirit – Ch3(b)

Hebrews 4:12 – “For the Word of God is living and operative and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit and of joints and marrow, and able to discern the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

Heb. 10:20– “Which entrance He initiated for us as a new and living way through the veil, that is, His flesh”

I. Dividing the soul from the human spirit

A. The Word of God must pierce us so that we may know how to press on from living in the wilderness of the soul into the good land and the Holiest place of our human spirit—Heb. 4:12

Three parts man, good land

B. The natural man which is of the sourish life or the old nature, must be broken as the veil and buried as the old man so that we may enter into the enjoyment of Christ as our rest in the Holiest of all—Heb. 4:11

II. Distractions from the human spirit

A. Doing good and doing good deeds.

B. The most vital thing is for us to know our spirit and deny our soul.

C. We tune our human spirit rightly (like a radio receiver) when we have a broken and contrite spirit. This occurs when we are repentant before God and open unto Him.

D. When we discern our spirit from our thinking, our emotions and our choices, we will know how to contact the divine Spirit, Who is the wonderful, all-inclusive Spirit of the Triune God.
